As you see I am not a website genius. Since 1996 I have spent a fortune on services by others for my various website promoted businesses. To date I have not found a satisfactory CMS product. I have spent too many thousand$ so I have put my foot down. Since I am a Kiwi you won’t be surprised with this DIY. Simple is often best! I promise you this site will get better. Body Mind & Soul was my first website small business; however it has gone through a dozen evolutions of purpose and theme. It started with business in sport science products and services, personal training and weight loss.

Today what I want to offer with Body Mind & Soul perhaps better befits this name for a biz that popped into mind when a 20 year old dreaming up a unique enterprise while sitting in PE history lectures of classical Greek physical culture, by the ever enthusiastic Stan Mair, at NZ’s only School of Physical Education, that resides at NZ’s oldest university, Otago University.

Forging today a journey further into long held interests I have made discoveries and now offer you this latest version of Body Mind & Soul - Your Center for Healing by Sound and other aids to your Personal Evolution. I have plans for a unique experiential “health & personal growth” service along these lines when I have the right premises and the right timing.

What is Healing by Sound?

Sorry, I am not going to give you much of an answer right here! I cannot or perhaps more correctly do not want to put a book in this place about the validity of sound for “treating” your health problems, or how it will improve your personal well-being, or that it will set you on a course of higher spiritual tuning. These “answers” can all be found. “Seek and ye shall find” is the 2000 year old instruction! There is plenty of scientific, medical and empirical (documented personal experience) in support of the validity of “healing by sound”. A list of educational links is below.

What is Health?

From a medical GP came a most impacting succinct suggestion that has stuck strongly with me from many years ago when I grappled with M.E (aka chronic fatigue etc) was from his book describing how with nothing to offer from “modern medicine” he turned to alternative remedies to help his patients. It was a chapter heading where I found his most powerful instruction that I think of to this day…

“The Healing Power of Deep Relaxation”

From having this simple precept in mind, in observing other people and my own self, most problems including health issues would be greatly alleviated or eliminated if for a little time per day, or at least per week, we could learn to STOP, to properly relax and quiet both body (from over activity) and mind (from over thinking, especially repeat negative self-talk, the most damaging bar none health affliction that we inflict upon ourselves!). The inability to quiet the activity of one’s mind I believe perpetuates everyday personal issues …which are destined to endlessly repeat until we die (can be literal or metaphoric!) or we resolve the issue to elevate our personal self to a higher state of being (…which some say is the purpose of the “lessons” in our time here at the school of planet Earth). This “advice” to some may sound outrageously simplistic or “kooky” but there is a lot evidence for it if you would but search. “Seek and ye shall find!” It is not necessarily the “quieting” in itself that does the healing or problem solving for us but the things that are given space & time it allows us to be lead to.

Caution!

With some products here that are designed specifically for healing (of mind or body) you must take care in that like many other “natural” healing modalities a “healing response” can be generated. This means that sometimes in “throwing off” what ails you, your body or mind can react in a dramatic, unpleasant or alarming way.
